PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE NEW MEMBERS
Happy Birthday To GGG,
Hi Folks.................GGG is now 7 years old. Last Saturday, October 18th, at Del Valle park in Livermore, hosted by Jimmy & Michele Sanderson and Alan & Julie Blake, we celebrated our birthday. Weather was beautiful, excellent turnout, great raffle, tasty food all made for a day to remember. Raffle to help member Ed Cudney who is currently stationed in Iraq restore his 69 GTO raised $435. Additionally we raised $100 to donate to the USO. Nice, really nice! Thanks to everyone that was able to share the experience.
Our next meeting on Wednesday Nov. 5th at Harry's in San Leandro is rapidly approaching. Please attend if you can as this will be the meeting at which we brainstorm for ideas for next years event calendar. That will be the focus of this meeting so put on your thinking caps. We will solidify plans for our January 2004 meeting as well where we put everything together for next years event schedule by voting on each idea we have from the Nov. meeting. Any and all ideas are welcome. Your ideas and your votes on what you want to be doing next year determines our '04 event schedule. Come on out for these two very important meetings. Just a reminder, we will have no club meeting in December.
Other meeting topics to include GTOAA's changing membership requirements for affiliated chapters. Board positions are up for renewal as well. If anyone wants to run for a position or nominate someone for a position, now is the time. We began this process at last months meeting and no changes were suggested. Your existing board is more than happy to continue on for another year if that is what our members want. Your call..............just let us know, thanks.
That covers everything for now...........see ya in the fast lane.

Everyone
introduced themselves and welcomed the new members to our club.
1. Hosting the GoodGuys event for 2004. The club voted to continue to host the event.
2. It was suggested that the club might think about a new early morning meeting place. No decision was made.
3. We discussed the “specialty area parking” and how we need to give the GoodGuys some suggestions and our feedback as to how last year’s event went. We aren’t policemen. We need to communicate that to the GoodGuys.
4. People working the early shift need to be at the front of the line going into the fairgrounds.
5. It was suggested that we negotiate the dollar amount that the club gets paid to host the event
6. There was discussion about the hours that people will work. Club voted to continue to work 1-hour shifts. We will discuss this further at future meetings.
John Mekisich asked that we brainstorm about the
upcoming events for 2004. Barb Davis will put together a list of possible
events. We will choose events at our January 2004 meeting.
Russ Louthian is working on December 6th

that served our country. RSVP to Jimmy Sanderson before Oct 9th.

place in San Leandro. He will let us know at next meeting.

Golden Gate Goats Holiday Parade and Food Drive
Santa Cruz - Saturday Morning / December 6, 2003
Here’s the kind of holiday event you’ve been looking for - - a simple, rewarding event that takes little time and even less effort and is guaranteed to make you feel good!
Rain or shine the parade will go on (but it has only rained once in the history of t his parade, and last year it was 70-degrees with plenty of sun)!
What We Need to Do:
This event takes place right in the middle of the Holiday Season, so we have done all we can to make it simple, easy and fun.
1. Bring your family and friends in your car along with at least one container of canned or packaged food to donate for each car occupant. If you’re alone, no problem, just bring one item and you are in the event. If you have five in the car, each person must have a food item to donate. Yes, you can bring more that one item per person if you wish.
2. If you hate to shop, or forget to bring the donation, you can donate cash in the form of a check made payable to Second Harvest Food Bank.
That’s it. No need to RSVP, you can make up your mind at the last minute to join us. We want as many member cars as possible to take part. But, if your car just can’t make it, don’t let that stop you. Bring your item to donate (or your check) and meet us at the Brueners parking lot in Campbell. Then hitch a ride with one of the club members to the parade and donation stand and you too can get the great feeling that comes from taking part in a good cause and knowing you did your part to help.
The parade lasts about an hour, and will be a nice easy cruise through the heart of Santa Cruz with plenty of people to admire your car and plenty of media (radio, TV, newspapers) coverage as well. So please feel free to decorate your car in the Holiday Spirit!
Event Schedule

- Gather at Breuners Furniture Store parking lot on Hamilton Avenue in Campbell.
- To get there take 880 South toward San Jose. When 880 crosses 280, it becomes Highway

9:00AM - 10:00AM
- Prepare /Decorate cars for parade
